Dave Canterbury, author of “BushCraft 101” and “Advanced Bush Craft”, first came up with the concept which he calls the 5 C’s (and then the 10 C’s) of survivability.

you can think of the 10 C’s as forming the core of any good survival kit for any environment.

The C’s are based on essential tools, that are the hardest (or most time consuming) to produce from natural material, yet have the biggest impact on your ability to survive in any given situation.

  1. Cutting tool, such as a knife.
  2. Combustion device, to make fire with.
  3. Cover, for warmth and protection from the elements.
  4. Container, to store and boil water.
  5. Cordage, for building a shelter, wrapping, fixing and everything else.
  6. Candle, provides light and the paraffin makes a great fire starter.
  7. Canvas Needle, for all sorts of repairs.
  8. Cargo Tape, useful for repairs and blisters.
  9. Compass, for navigation.
  10. Cotton, like a large handkerchief or another medium sized cloth.
So based on this list here are the items i have in a Molle Bag.
